Psychology of Religion and Islamic Education
Islamic education is defined as the conscious effort made by those who have responsibility for coaching, mentoring, development and direction of the potential of children so that they can function and act as the nature of the event. So in this sense is not limited by the Islamic educational institutions (institutions) or on specific educational field. Islamic education is defined in a broad scope.
As for who is responsible in this sense is a parent. Meanwhile, teachers or other educators is an extension of parents. Along with that responsibility, then the parents and teachers of Islamic education to function and act as supervisors, mentors, developers and potential steering their children in order to become an obedient servant of God and the faithful, according to the nature of human creation and can also play a role as the caliph of God in the life of the world.
Approach to psychology of religion in Islamic education had actually been done in the early period of development of Islam itself. The function and role of both parents as role models closest to the child has been recognized in Islamic education. Even religion and faith of a child is considered highly depends on the example of their parents.
