ASSIGNMENT, TEACHER ROLE AND COMPETENCE
1. Teaching and Learning
Teaching and learning process is the core of the overall educational process with the teacher as the holder of the main roles. Event learn to teach a lot of roots in the various views and concepts. Therefore, the embodiment of the process of teaching and learning can occur in various models. Marshal Bruce Joyce and Weil suggests 22 teaching models that are grouped into four things, namely (a) process information, (2) personal development (3) social interaction, and (4) behavior modification (Joyce & Weil, Models of Teaching , 1980).
In a one-time learning process, which was first done is to formulate specific learning goals (TPK), which will be achieved. After formulating the corruption, the next step is to determine the appropriate subject matter for this purpose. Then, the method of teaching which is the vehicle for the development of educational materials that can be accepted and belong to the student. Then determine the teaching props that can be used to clarify and simplify the acceptance of educational materials by students and can support the achievement of that goal. The last step is to determine an evaluation tool that can measure whether objectives are achieved results can be used as feedback for teachers to improve teaching quality and quantity of students.
2. Task Master
Teachers have many duties, both are bound by duty and outside the department, in the form of devotion. If we classify the teachers there are three types of tasks, ie tasks in a professional field, of humanitarian tasks, and tasks in the areas of society.
Teacher is a profession / job or jobs that require specialized expertise as a teacher. This type of work can not be done by anyone outside the educational field have been made despite the fact that people outside education. That's why this type of profession the most easily affected by pollution.
3. Role of Teachers in Teaching and Learning
The role and competence of teachers in teaching and learning include many things as suggested by Adams & Decey, among others, the teacher as a teacher, class leader, supervisor, environmental regulators, participants, ekspeditor, planners, supervisors, motivator and counselor. While the role is considered the most dominant teachers who are classified as follows:
a. Teacher as a demonstrator
b. Teachers as classroom managers
c. Teacher as mediator and facilitator
d. Teacher as evaluator
4. Role of Teachers in administrating
In connection with the administration activities, a teacher may act as follows:
a. Taking the initiative, the steering and assessing educational activities.
b. Community representatives, which means teacher in the school environment becomes a member of a society.
c. People with expertise in the subject.
d. Disciplinarian.
e. Implementing educational administration.
f. Younger generation of leaders.
g. Translator to the public.
5. Role of Teachers in Private
Viewed from the aspect of himself, a teacher must act as follows:
a. Social worker.
b. Students and scientists.
c. Parents.
d. Search model.
e. Security seekers.
6. Teachers' Role in Psychological
The role of teachers, psychologically, the teacher is seen as follows:
a. Educational psychologists.
b. Artists in human relations.
c. Forming the group as a road or a tool in education.
d. Catalytic agent.
e. Mental health workers.
7. Teachers' Professional Competence
a. Understanding
Competency means (authority) the power to determine or decide something (General Dictionary Indonesian).
b. Terms profession
Considering the duties and responsibilities of a teacher who was so complex, so this profession requires special conditions were as follows:
A) Insist that the skills and theories based on the concept of profound knowledge.
2) Emphasis on a particular expertise in specific areas of the profession.
3) Insist that adequate levels of teacher education.
c. Types of competence
1) personal competence.
2) Professional Competence.
